Data Deletion Policy

1. Your Right to Delete Your Data

ApnaJhola provides you with the ability to permanently delete your account and associated personal data. This is in compliance with Google Play's data deletion requirements.

2. How to Delete Your Account

You can request permanent account deletion through the app:

  1. Open the ApnaJhola app
  2. Go to Profile → Settings
  3. Tap "Privacy & Account"
  4. Select "Delete Account" (permanent deletion)
  5. Verify your identity using OTP sent to your registered mobile number
  6. Optionally provide a reason for leaving
  7. Confirm the deletion request

If you cannot access the app, contact us at support@apnajhola.com with your registered mobile number.

3. Account Deactivation vs Deletion

ApnaJhola offers two options:

Deactivate Account Delete Account
Temporary - can reactivate by logging in Permanent - cannot be undone after 30 days
Data is preserved Data is permanently removed
Verified with password Verified with OTP

4. Data Removed After Permanent Deletion

Once deletion is confirmed and the 30-day grace period ends, we permanently remove:

  • Name, mobile number, and email address
  • Profile information (photo, gender, date of birth)
  • Saved delivery addresses
  • Wishlist and cart items
  • Search history within the app
  • Product reviews you submitted
  • Reward coins and coupon balances
  • Notification preferences
  • Authentication tokens and session data

5. Data We May Retain

Certain information may be retained for legal and operational purposes:

  • Order and transaction records (as required by tax and commerce laws)
  • Payment transaction IDs (stored by Razorpay payment gateway)
  • Support or dispute-related communication records
  • Aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify you

6. Deletion Timeline

  • Immediate: Deletion request is logged and account is marked for deletion
  • 30 days: Grace period during which you can cancel by logging in
  • After 30 days: Personal data is permanently removed from active systems
  • Up to 90 days: Data may persist in encrypted backups before being purged

7. Cancellation Window

If you log in within 30 days of requesting deletion, your account will be restored and the deletion process will be cancelled. After 30 days, restoration is no longer possible.

8. Effects of Permanent Deletion

After your data is permanently deleted:

  • Your account cannot be recovered
  • You will lose access to past order history within the app
  • Any pending orders may be cancelled
  • Reward coins, offers, and coupons will be permanently lost
  • You will need to create a new account to use ApnaJhola again

9. Third-Party Data

Some data is processed by third-party services:

  • Razorpay – Payment transaction records (subject to their retention policy)
  • Google – If you used Google Sign-In (manage at Google Account)
  • Ola Maps – Location service logs

For data held by these services, you may need to contact them directly.

10. Verification

To protect your account, we verify your identity using OTP sent to your registered mobile number before processing permanent deletion requests.
